Things I am going to try in 2018: Listening to new things

I think I may have accidentally created a new project for myself for 2018. I thought in response to the tweet above, I might get one or two suggestions back. I was kind of expecting Nicola Osborne would have more than that, but otherwise was just looking forward to discovering a few new things. The list below is the consolidated set of recommendations I got. Bright orange is things I already listen to, and not everything is linked because eating and using the bathroom are things I also needed to do today. In short, people are amazing, generous, kind, varied, and interesting.

So now I’m thinking I need to work my way in no particular order through these during 2018, and maybe blog a few notes if I really like / really don’t like. My main criteria will be “Can I knit along to this?”.

(Since this is going to take me some time, feel free to continue sending me ideas if you think there’s something good that isn’t on this list).

I also received an excellent suggestion to get over myself and consider audiobooks, which turned into the suggestion that my local library may have some to offer and it might even count as “footfall”. A bit of a search reveals there are a few audiobooks available to loan from West Lothian Libraries. Many not to my taste but it’s free, so hey, why not try something? It was also suggested that I try the audio books collection available at Open Culture. Edit: Also suggested that I try the free audiobooks at LibriVox.

A few suggestions for specific programmes from the BBC iPlayer too: Mark Steel – Who Do I Think I Am? | Marie Hicks on BBC Women’s Hour. Well, alright then. Knitted needles primed and ready to go…
