Anna Shipman/@annashipman on leading on open source for the Government Digital Service/@gdsteam https://t.co/ZxtYED05Vr “The UK government has committed to making all new source code open” #opengov #govtech

This tweet from Josie Fraser (and the blog post behind it – which is very worth reading) reminded me that in addition to a shit conference presentation on maintenance (it’s a thing) and no sexy conference presentation at all on doing administration I also have one road-tested and ready to go on open source software and procurement.
Back in 2010 I explained to a room of great people at the Jasig conference (the organisation now known as Apereo) how we went about using open source maturity models as an alternative route to procurement for testing the viability of an open source identity management solution.
Snappy stuff. I need a better repertoire for 2018. Open to any ideas people want to send.
