Where to start?

This site was originally built to accompany a talk I gave at the Justice Institute of BC Demofest event in October 2022. I have reworked it a since then to flesh it out further and as I’ve refined my thinking.

The site was built to focus on the procurement of educational technologies, and why I think that procurement is an overlooked, but fundamentally important area when we think about how we might achieve more ethical uses of educational technology, and beyond that, how we might strive for what we think good education should be.

4 propositions about edtech below outline why I think that procurement practices should not be overlooked. Whilst I don’t yet know what the answer is in terms of changing how we approach procurement (as I think the problems are bigger than single institutions) I have some questions that I think can help us move towards generating some suggestions, and some practical actions we can take today that will at least move towards harm reduction.
